Overview
Helen is a Professor of Political Science at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan. She works at the interface of International Relations and International Development and obtained her MA in International Development at the University of East Anglia and her PhD in Social and Political Science at the University of Cambridge.
Her research interests are broad and involved transnational networks, civil society and NGOs, political communication, international norms, conflict and development and human rights. She has authored articles and books on these subjects, specifically Civil War, Civil Peace (2005), The Business of Human Rights (2011) International NGO Engagement, Advocacy, Activism. The Faces and Spaces of Change (2016).
